8 Thoughts For A Cold Morning

I love the morning, but I can't say that I'm much of a waking up person.

Mornings can be so beautiful and blissful but when it's cold and you were having a nice dream and you have to wake up, mornings can just put you into that squinty/glaring face for a few hours.

No.  Simply no.  I woke up the other day and it's starting to get dark in the morning and there wasn't any sun coming into my bedroom and I just lay there and said no.

Why does my alarm just sound so horrible?  I've currently got Justin Timberlake Can't Stop The Feeling as my alarm tone and while I love the tune while I'm awake, having it as my alarm tone something about it just irks me.  And this happens with whatever I use as my alarm tone.  I'm just not a waking up person hahaha

Something about being too tired.  Granted I could have gone to sleep earlier but I didn't and I'm tired.  Although I'm still tired when I go to bed at a reasonable hour so I can't win!!!

IT IS COLD.  Autumn is here and it's cold and soon it'll be winter and it'll be even colder and that makes waking up so much harder.  Getting out of bed and the temperature difference isn't something I like really can I just stay in bed longer?  Granted if I wake up and it is snowing, I will be out of bed SO FAST

Why are my eyes hurting?  I was tempted to put spoons under and over my eyes this morning purely because I was fed up!  I don't know whether to google this or not because you know how it can turn out when you google things like this.....

Why is water tasting weird?  Is this just me?  I just can't drink water first thing.  Give me something to eat and a cuppa and then I'll happily drink water.  Another thing I'm not going to google hahahah

When it it bed time again?  Because we have to ask the important questions in life.

Ooooooh new YouTube videos to watch!  Other than food and it being a brand new day, I love opening up YouTube and seeing what videos have been uploaded!  When I'm having breakfast on my own I love to watch a few and try to save some for later hahah

I wish I was that person who is able to jump out of bed and get on with their day right from the get go but I don't think that will be happening for a while haha well atleast until the warmer months roll back around!

Does anyone have the same sort of thoughts as me?

Until next time, keep smiling :)  Em xx

3rd Blogoversary!!! Happy Birthday emmadaisy

All of the party related emojis!

Because.......  It's my little blogs 3rd Birthday/Blogoversary!

I had a comment just a few days ago congratulating me on reaching 3 years of blogging and I sat there going "oh my goodness, I've been doing this for 3 years" and it was just a little wow moment.  And a moment for me patting myself on the back because I'm truly proud of myself.

So I started my blog on the 21st of April 2014 and I remember it so well.  My first post So this is a hello I remember writing it up, pressing publish and just sitting there going, this is my first blog post.

I also remember I was meant to be studying but hey we can't always be a perfect student ;)

So 3 years of blogging.  It's been interesting and not all smooth sailing.  I never started this blog to become "famous" in the online world, far from it.  I love that I have my own little space internet.  And now looking at my previous posts on my blogs birthday (here & here) I feel like I'm repeating myself ahhaha

Blogging has been an incredible experience and I'll continue blogging for as long as I can.  I've "met" some amazing people through blogging.  People who inspire me, make me laugh, people who give provide me with new perspectives on topics and people who are just simply awesome!

I found something a while ago which I have been saving to share today...  When I seriously started thinking about creating a blog, I had a little bit of a brainstorm to generally come up with ideas.  And once my blog was up and running, that page of brainstorming disappeared and here we are now in 2017!  I recently found the page of brainstorming and had a bit of a moment when I was looking at it.

I remember as clear as day writing everything down.  Ah name ideas for this blog.  There were a few name changes over the year hahaha  I remember I thought I was really cool with my web address however someone else had edoublema as their blog name.  I was going to be called An Abundance Of Emma and then found out the legend John Green had a novel called An Abundance Of Katherines so had to think of another name!  I kept coming back to emmadaisy and while the web address for emmadaisy was taken (sigh) all my other social media handles were emmadaisy related so I stayed with emmadaisy.

And I love it.

It's so interesting to see what I was going to blog about.  Beauty and fashion with a lol next to it.....  I have spoken about a few beauty things but haven't really dipped into the fashion side of blogging.  Probably because my wardrobe is a rotating system of what I love and feel comfortable wearing hahahah maybe in the future, if it's something you'd like to see let me know!

While I'm not one to get into the appearance side of blogs, I'll read a post either way - not about to judge on looks - I have loved evolving how my blog has looked.  From using the classic blogger templates at the beginning and then somehow managing to install and tweak two templates to suit me, I'm pretty happy!  My current template is from Kotryna Bass Designs and I am obsessed with it.  For a person who isn't all that fancy with tech on the internet, I was able to install this with no problems and I love how it looks!  Also do love my little header I made on Canva, think it's really sweet!

I have thoroughly enjoyed blogging.  Whether you have been reading my blog for a little or long time, thank you.  I hope I get to keep producing content on emmadaisy for many years to come.

Again, thank you!  :)

Until next time, keep smiling :)  Em xx

The Blogger Tag

I've seen this floating around all over the place and seeing as we are nearing my blogs birthday I thought why not?

You all would know I love to read and also answer tag posts so I was more than happy to do this one!

When did you start blogging?  I started blogging on the 21st of April 2014 and my blog is about to turn 3 years old!!!

What encouraged you to start?  I had wanted to start for a while and one night just went for it and the rest is history hahaha a university tutor had mentioned that we should use social media for our careers and engage with it and my mind thought how blogging and design could work hand in hand and that's when I seriously started to think about it and look into the blogging world more

What was the first blog you ever actively followed?  I had been following a few blogs before I started my own.  So Zoella, Sprinkle of Glitter, Tanya Burr, Lily Melrose to name some but looking at the reading list I have on blogger there are a few who I want to mention.  Dear You, Love Em and lemontierres.  I can't remember how I found these two blogs but they were two whose content I adored and I love seeing their posts pop up on my Instagram feed!

What has been your biggest revelation since beginning blogging?  Blogging has been an eye opener in many ways.  You see the kindness of people and how supportive the community can be but then you also see the flip side of this.  And this is so sad to see :( just support each other, and show kindness!  It's doesn't cost anything!

What do you find toughest about blogging?  For me it's consistency!  Hands down hahaha I have been terrible at sticking to any sort of schedule and end of March/April has been a time where I've put a lot of effort into consistency with publishing posts.  And also sometimes producing content.  Finding inspiration can be incredibly difficult so that can be tough when you get writers block!  But in saying this, I am so proud of my blog at the moment!  I've kept to a publishing schedule for coming up to a month now and I've taken on advice given to me, which had helped me hugely!

What is your favourite thing to blog about?  I feel this is where I should start talking about my niche but I don't think I have one.  I blog about so many things.  Lifestyle | Thoughts | A Personal Blog.  That's what is in my blog header and I really just blog about my life.  I love having a serious chat in posts on topics which are close to my heart but I also love being sarcastic in my blog posts!  In January I uploaded a post called, My 6 Completely Realistic & Achievable Goals For 2017 and I had so much fun writing this and then seeing your response!  Probably one of my favourite posts I've done this year and also throughout my blogging years!

What are your blogging ambitions for 2017?  Just to keep chugging along and creating content that I am proud of.  I don't want to say that I want to get this amount of posts out or this amount of views or this many followers because that isn't me.  I've never been concerned with numbers and I feel like anytime you hit a milestone with followers it just ticks back down!!  So I just want to keep producing content which I love, you guys love and just be proud of whatever I'm doing.  :)

Do you have a plan for your blog?  Nope!  This blog has been a hobby for me and I don't know what the future has in store for it.  Whatever happens, happens!

I can't believe emmadaisy is about to turn 3 in a couple of day!!  So exciting!  Might throw a party for my blog hahaha I found a page of brainstorming I did when I was in the process of starting my blog, brought back so many memories!

Question for you all....  When (if you can remember) did you stumble upon my blog?  Would be interesting to know!  :)

Until next time, keep smiling :)  Em xx

A Huge Weekend Of Music

If this post is published today I want to give myself a medal.

Maybe a bit dramatic?  Probably but wow have I have a jam packed weekend and Monday!

Let me tell you all about it!

I feel like a scratched record saying this, but I play the clarinet.  I don't know how many times I've said that here on my blog but there we go again hahahah if I had a dollar for every time....

Over the Easter weekend, in my little hometown of Launceston, the Australian National Band Championships would be taking place.  And I would be tooting away on the clarinet with the band I'm in.  I've competed in these championships with the LC Symphonic people for ages now and it never gets any less nerve wracking.

Wednesday night, I could fall asleep because I was getting nervous over it all!  Last year for a set of championship, we had a test piece called Angels in the Architecture and it's a truly amazing piece of music.  But has the most exposed clarinet solo and I was the lucky person who got to play it.  I was nervous for that.  This year in one of the pieces we're playing, we've dedicated it to a past clarinet member who passed away, so it's quite emotional.  I am more nervous for this piece than what I was for the Angels solo.  Funny how things work...

I was only playing in the Open A Grade section this year as I wasn't listed as a permit player (phew) so it was nice to only have to worry about the one section and be able to listen to everyone else.  I wasn't needed until the afternoon but there were some stalls I wanted to check out and I also wanted to see the other sections so I could cheer on our younger bands!

I felt like a proud parents standing side stage and then out in the audience watching the younger bands.  I don't think I've ever really appreciate the percussion section and watching them from the side was just incredible!  They were just amazing and my hands were sore from clapping afterwards.

The only section I was competing in was the Open A-Grade and we knew we weren't going to win!  Something drastic would have had to happen with the other competing bands for us to win!  There were a few blips on stage and moments where I physically didn't have a clue what to do.  And that's never happened before and was preparing for a train crash of a performance and everything coming to a hault but somehow we got through it all!

AND WE CAME THIRD!!!!!

We were accepting that we'd come last but we came third!!

I had family and my best friend watching the live stream and it was just awesome to know that they were able to see us on stage.

Sunday arrived and I was back up getting ready for another day as we had the Gala concert.  We'd be performing alongside Vox Harmony choir and were playing a few fun pieces.

The Gala was opened with two brass bands and OMG THEY WERE SO GOOD!  Probably my favourite moment in the concert was one of the percussion guys!  He was just hilarious and was just running all over the stageHe even had the time to take a selfie, was probably one of the most captivating performances!

The band performing after us played Angels In The Architecture and I was desperate to hear this.  It was a test piece last year and I got ot play the clarinet solo and really wanted to hear it again.  And let me just say the girl who performed the solo.  Beautiful.  We stood up to applause at the end and again my hands were burning from clapping afterwards!

I had a fangirl moment after the concert when I met the girl.  She was incredible and I just wanted to congratulate herWe spoke for a while afterwards and it was lovely to meet her and other members of their band and I'm like I am your number one fan!!

I'm writing this section ahead of time, as I'm in town all day today again being involved with music.  Monday was the day scheduled for the solo and party championships and while I wasn't competing in that myself, I was helping out running the BBQ with my saxophone friend Natalie!  Talk about BBQ pros!  And, I also wanted to see my friend Amity and Cameron perform!

While working at the BBQ we also got to meet the percussion guy I mentioned earlier.  My day was made!  He was lovely to talk to and gave us a lot of ideas for future performance!

Although it has been such a busy few days I have absolutely loved it!  Moments like these where I love that I play the clarinet.  You get so many opportunities to meet people and I've met some friends for life through music.

I am buggered now and would love a good long sleep!

How was your Easter Weekend?  Let me know what you got up too!

Until next time, keep smiling :)  Em xx

PS!  Come and say hello!!! :) x
